General Information

Lincoln College welcomes transfer students and offers generous transfer of credit policies. Official transcripts from each institution a student has attended are individually evaluated for transferable credit. Specific policies governing the transfer of credit may be found in the current Academic Catalog. Broadly speaking, Lincoln College will recognize transfer credit for courses meeting the following criteria:

  • The course was completed at a regionally accredited college or university, and
  • The course was completed with a passing grade. (Certain limitations may apply to transfer courses in which the student earned a final grade of “D”)

The Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI)

Lincoln College also participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) and offers students the option of completing the IAI General Education Core Curriculum provided they are transferring at least 15 credits of IAI recognized coursework. For more information on IAI, please visit
